REPORTS OF PRESS CONFERENCE FUEL HOPES THAT HEAD COACH WILL BE CANNED
Rumors are circulating around Clemson University that head football coach Tommy Bowden may be on his way out. School officials have reportedly scheduled a press conference for this afternoon or tomorrow, at which time a replacement will be named.
The claims stem from reports that Terry Don Phillips, the Clemson athletics director, has been in talks with other coaching candidates.
But some fans say it’s just wishful thinking and confirmation of the story is difficult to obtain.
Bowden has come under fire after a disappointing 3-2 start to the season, including a loss to unranked Maryland Saturday. He has also been widely criticized for refusing to fire offensive coordinator Rob Spence.

What a cheap way to get traffic. You are posting lies on the internet just to get attention. There are no rumors about Bowden being fired today, just something you made up to make a name for yourself. At only 24, this isn’t a good start as your name will be associated with this BS rumor.
I was spotted on Clemson campus Sunday taking a tour and viewing all the football facilities. If they fired Tommy and hired me it would make sense cause I am an ACC man from Raleigh, NC.
Tell Terry Don I’ll give him the first carry next year if he don’t fire me.
The other ACC coaches will come to his rescue - they never want to see him or the “mad stupid” leave.
As an alumnus and fan of Georgia Tech, I hope ya’ll keep him.
