VOTE FOR DUGAN/HUFFMAN EVERY DAY FOR NEXT 19 DAYS
In the only post that has ever contained a smiley face emoticon (that I know of), The Palmetto Scoop was the first to report last month that South Carolina natives Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman, who met on the CBS show “Survivor,” were engaged and had entered into the Charleston Wedding Giveaway contest.
The contest ends Oct. 17 and they need all the votes they can get because these two should definitely win. You can vote once a day between now and the end of the contest by visiting their page on the wedding giveaway site.
Now, the folks with the wedding giveaway contest wrote me and said, “While I think it’s great that you are bringing attention to this fantastic giveaway, I think you should be profiling ALL the finalists in this contest, not just the reality TV stars from ‘Survivor,’” so I hope I’m not getting them in trouble by doing this. But the future Mr. and Mrs. Huffman were just featured on the cover of People magazine, so I think that trumps what little support they’ll get from this post.
If you don’t know why you should vote for them, just watch the above video they submitted for the contest… it’s pretty well-done and has had nearly 45,000 views on YouTube. Sure, there’s some of that gushy overly-romantic stuff, but hey, they’re in love and the world needs more of that.

And, Adam, you might want to take a look at the other 3 videos. They’re ALL better than the one you’re bragging about!
It’s not that we are jealous of these two, it’s just that they are so incredibly annoying! This video makes me want to vomit–especially the “gangsta” thing at the end, puhleaze. These 2 earned a combined $85,000 on Survivor…I think they can afford a wedding. Give it to someone who truly needs it!
I personally would love to see a profile on the other couples…I’ve personally had enough of our native SC “celebs”

To Sandy: Adam’s “shameless plugging” of “this couple” isn’t really any different than the plugging of another couple on the link I posted above. Do you think the lady who wrote it is also getting paid under the table? Maybe I should send her your comment. And how do you know Adam didn’t watch the other 3 videos? Maybe he just wants to pull for the South Carolinians. Nothing wrong with that.
To Kevin: Okay so you think these two are “incredibly annoying.” Well, then don’t watch the video anymore. Is someone holding a gun to your head? If seeing someone having a little fun at the end of their video makes you want to vomit — again, don’t watch the video. And by the way, where did you get your information on their Survivor income? Are you their accountant or something? How would you know who “truly needs” the wedding? Maybe there are needs you aren’t aware of but that haven’t been addressed in a video. Since SC is the home state of this couple, then I think it’s fair for The Palmetto Scoop to write about them. If you’ve had enough of the “native SC celebs,” go to another site. Again, no one is forcing you to be here…
I voted for Erik and Jaime. She works for a Christian Ministry. I think that is amazing. I am sure she could have got a higher paying job out of college but she chose to do something to help others. Erik is a musician. I think it is cool he is following his dreams. Everyone that seems to know these two have great things to say about them. I think it is great that the SC PUBLICATION is rooting for natives to our lovely state!
PS I watched the other videos. THEY WERE HORRIBLE!!! One looked like a retarded old time movie that was cheesy and BORING. Another looked like a news broadcast. And the whole redneck wedding one was seriously BAD.
