GOVERNOR COMPARES CLIMATE CHANGE TO ECONOMIC COLLAPSE
The state Climate, Energy and Commerce Advisory Committee, a panel appointed by Gov. Mark Sanford to examine energy and climate issues, today suggested a number of things South Carolina can do to become more environmentally friendly. The CECAC also used their report to list a number of options for developing alternative energy.
Of course, rather than allowing the panel’s findings to speak for themselves, Sanford had to go and say something stupid.
Sanford today likened the enormity of solving the problem of global warming to solving the nation’s financial crisis. [...]
“Doing nothing is not an option,” Sanford said. [Greenville News]
I’m not naive enough to believe that there isn’t some sort of man-made “climate change” taking place. I’m sure there is, but I sure as hell wouldn’t compare it to the urgency of our nation’s impending economic implosion.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about increasing research into renewable energy, but first we need focus on getting rid of the greedy bastards who took a bad economic situation and made it worse. If we don’t, we’ll be waking up in a third-world country asking Jim Clyburn and John Spratt for some of their leftover embezzlements.

the CCS contractors who wrote the CECAC are corrupt, and have been exposed in other states for their rapidly partisan agenda. the SCPC even published something on this when the committee was formed. they looked at other states predicated the outcomes that were released in the final report to a T.
