ANNUAL CORN MAIZE OPENS THIS WEEKEND WITH POLITICAL TWIST

Yes, I admit that headline was incredibly lame given the content of this post, but I would like to see you write about a corn maze without being, well, “corny.” Seriously, let’s see you do it, hot shot.

Anyway, the annual Maize Quest at Clinton Sease Farm in Lexington will open this weekend featuring a special “Vote ‘08″ theme (pictured above).

Explore the heritage of our freedoms and discover the importance of voting in safeguarding the rights that were passed down from our founding fathers. Maze design includes the elephant and donkey representing both political parties.

We extend a special welcome to you, as you make this part of your fall family tradition.

Along the way you will find clues, pictures, and games. Maize-o-Vision secret decoders help you navigate the multi-acre puzzle. Can you find your way out? Maize Quest is a great way for families, scouts, schools, youth groups, and corporate parties to enjoy victory together!

The maze is open Fri. 5-11 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday 2-7 p.m., through Nov. 23. Tickets are $8 and groups of 20 should book in advance. They also have a Kiddie Corn Maze, Tire Maze, John Deere Tractor Raceway, Cornsnake, Rubber Duck Races, Mist Maze, and South Carolina’s Original Marshmallow Maze, and they do birthday parties as well.

No word yet as to whether or not my main man, Spartanburg GOP Chair Rick Beltram, has booked his birthday their yet. Actually, I don’t even know if his birthday is coming up, I just know the Kiddie Corn Maze would be perfect for him.

I heard he went into the grown-up maze last year though, and three weeks later they finally had to send in a search and rescue team. They reportedly found him curled up in a corner clenching his toy gun, but his little cowboy hat was nowhere to be found.

Will Ricky recover in time for this year’s corn maze? Only time will tell.
