Last night, Saturday Night Live did the obvious and debuted comedian Tina Fey’s dead-on impersonation of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Hell, the two are practically doppelgangers, so everyone knew it was coming.
Thankfully, the SNL producers didn’t make us wait. Fey opened the first show of the new season as Palin alongside Amy Poehler as a former presidential candidate, Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton, to present a “nonpartisan message” and deliver the famous “Live from New York…” line.
The skit hit on a number of the media digs at both Palin and Clinton, and closed with Poehler as Clinton saying, “I invite the media to grow a pair. And if you can’t, I will lend you mine.”
Palin viewed the sketch aboard a campaign flight to Denver, where CBS News’ Scott Conroy was able to get her reaction:
According to her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt, the real Sarah Palin had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane and millions of Americans at home.
“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” Schmitt said.
So Fey dressed up as Palin, and Palin admits she once dressed up as Fey for Halloween. So where does that leave you?

SNL had to take advantage of this opportunity because after Nov. 4, Palin will be just another bi-line in history! LET’S HOPE! TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED….. Remeber Jessie Ventura?
Ventura had a chance to make a huge splash in the US Senate race in MN this year, with polls showing his possible third-party bid pulling in about 24% of the vote. He decided against it. I think we’ll probably be hearing more from him in the future.
