COMMENT HIGHLIGHTS OBAMA’S SEXISM, LACK OF JUDGMENT, HATRED OF MIDDLE CLASS, FOOT-IN-MOUTH DISEASE

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama showed his uncanny ability to shove his foot in his mouth Tuesday when he made a comment that was in all likelihood directed at Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP nominee for vice president.

“That’s not change,” Obama said at a campaign rally. “You know, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”

Whether Obama meant it to be a shot at Palin, it was obvious by the crowd reaction that they got the reference.

The campaign of Republican John McCain was quick to respond, launching an ad early this morning attacking Obama for the possibly-sexist remark, as Palin has quickly become identified as the “lipstick” candidate courtesy of a great one-liner delivered in her speech at the Republican National Convention last week.

Obama’s campaign responded that this was a non-controversy and that McCain and company were merely trying to distract voters away from the real issues.

But what Obama fails to address is the fact that his comment raises a number of very “real issues.”

First, it highlights his complete lack judgment. Can you imagine President Obama saying something similar when he goes to sip tea with Iranian nutjob Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? I’m sure the outcome of that would be just swell.

Of course, where Obama lacks judgment, I’m sure his vice president Joe Biden could fill in, right? I mean, it’s not like he would tell a wheelchair bound state senator to stand up in front of hundreds of people at a campaign rally or anything.

Second, the “lipstick” swipe shows the extreme dichotomy between liberal elites like Obama and middle class America. Even if the comment was intentional as Obama claims, it still plays as a pot shot at a working class mother for wearing lipstick. And he knew that when he said it.

But what else would we expect from a guy who goes to San Francisco and bashes those “bitter” people in small town America who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them… to explain their frustrations.”

The same guy who will indulge in a fundraiser with Hollywood leftist loony Barbara Streisand.

And yes, the same guy whose campaign was launched by not one, but two domestic terrorists.
