FOWLER FAMILY CONTINUES MENAGERIE OF MUDSLINGING
Less than two weeks after her husband was caught on video laughing about the possibility of a devastating hurricane hitting New Orleans, South Carolina Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler has followed suit with a similarly tactless comment about Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
There’s no video this time, but The Politco’s Jonathan Martin reports that Fowler told a colleague of his that Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”
Yes, the official head of the state Democratic Party — a superdelegate for Democrat Barack Obama — arrogantly assaulted Palin, a mother of five who bravely gave birth to a son with Down syndrome despite knowing the difficulties ahead of time, for NOT having an abortion.
I don’t know what the hell is wrong with the Fowler family and the Democrats in this state who allow these morons to speak for them, but this is one of the most absolutely sickening personal attacks I’ve seen on Palin yet — and there have been A LOT of them.
South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson called on Fowler to issue an apology to Palin.
“Carol Fowler’s statement is offensive, outrageous and – most importantly – dead wrong,” said Dawson. “Fowler’s statement is born out of desperation from a campaign that is sputtering across the South. Fowler and Obama are eager to smear – not ready to lead.”
I agree with Dawson. If Fowler has any class whatsoever, she will apologize for the attacks immediately and, taking it a step further, resign her post as party chair.

UPDATE: Fowler is halfway there. She apologized late yesterday to “anyone who finds my comment offensive.” I guess that’s close enough. Now for that resignation part…

You’re right on but it’s your own fault. Democrats sold their party to extreme leftists like NRAGOP and now they have to deal with it.
True moderates within the Democratic Party, many of whom I have a great deal of respect for, would and should rightly denounce Fowler rather than trying to defend someone who dissed a mother of a special needs child for not aborting the baby when she found out about it.
I don’t care if you think Palin is experienced or not, you absolutely cannot be a reasonable human being and think what Fowler was at all appropriate.

This election is nothing more than a huge, elaborate, and disgusting joke.
Pundits, surrogates, and candidates spitting back and forth as if they are in a middle school schoolyard. And then media amplifying that hot air to the point that it dominates 100% of the national discussion about choosing leaders, leaving no room for the issues that are directly relevant to the continued prosperity, way of life, or god forbid existence, of the United States of America.
Once again, after the “cling to guns and religion” comment, disavowment of lifetime friend and “mentor” Wright who’s crazy views are insulting to America, and now this, it just shows the Dems are just out of touch under the “leadership” of Obama. Its amazing how supposedly this is the party for women, but idolizes a sexual harrasser President and minimizes one its most cherished and accomplished female stars (Hillary).
If this is indicative of what the Dems stand for, as an Independent, it just makes me discover not only to know why I should vote for Palin and McCain, but also why I should NOT vote for Obama and Biden by the true meaness of their party and its surrogates. I wonder if Ms. Fowler has had an abortion, or for that matter, what is the status in terms of all female politicians in the Democratic side of politics that have been elected and if they have passed the litmus test of having had an abortion to be a true Democrat?

Small-Minded Criticism of Republican Sarah Palin
COLUMBIA, SC September 10, 2008 − The South Carolina Democratic Party establishment’s reaction to a previous press release, where Bob Conley accused the state’s top party leadership of supporting a far left agenda, was dismissive of Bob Conley. Carol Fowler, in particular, denied the party leadership was pursuing a far left agenda and accused Bob Conley of being “inexperienced” in his appraisal of their intentions.
Ms. Fowler seems to have come down with a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease. With her declaration that Republican Party Vice-Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion,” Carol Fowler has irrefutably lent full faith and credit to Bob Conley’s accusation of her obvious far-left agenda of which the rank-and-file Democratic voters in the state are not supportive.
“I do not support in any way shape or form the recent comments by Carol Fowler regarding Sarah Palin’s qualifications,” Bob Conley declared in an emotionally charged statement from Washington, D.C. “Carol Fowler’s comments were wrong. Such comments detract from the important issues at hand and are completely out of line. Fowler’s comments demonstrate that her concerns are not for women but are rather for pressing a far left ideology.”
Bob Conley knows that in South Carolina a far-left ideologue cannot win a U.S. Senate seat. Bob Conley is the true “maverick” of this race and will fight for what is best for the hard working citizens of this state who have moral backbone. It’s inane comments such as this that make me scream, “You Pig” to Ms. Fowler, but I’m afraid I would then have to apologize to the porcine community. Does her mouth work before her brain has a chance to register? The comments continue in an attempt to discredit Mrs. Palin in any way they can. What a shame that name calling and slander rather than looking at credentials has become the norm for this country. Perhaps if looking at credentials were used, the opposite side might find that there exists nothing but the innocuous banter of “Hope and Change”. Once the threads of that empty suit have unraveled and lie upon the floor, then possibly the world will see the star and sickle that lies beneath.
