AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS IT’S GARCIA TIME?
I’m not a college football coach and I think it’s safe to say that I never will be, but I think someone needs to tell University of South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier that enough is enough.
The Head Ball Coach announced today that he would go to a two-quarterback system against the University of Georgia this weekend, hoping to rebound from a catastrophic loss to Vanderbilt. Those two quarterbacks will be Chris Smelley and Tommy Beecher, who have combined for a woeful six interceptions in two games.
Sure, super-hyped possible star Stephen Garcia has had his fair share of trouble and he isn’t very good at making it to practice, but does Spurrier honestly think that rotating Smelley and Beecher during the course of the game will really change things? Come on.
I’m with Spurrier in hoping it will work against the second-ranked Bulldogs on Saturday, but I don’t think I’m alone in saying, “Coach, it’s Garcia time.”

File this under “Blowhard complains about something he has literally zero qualification to complain about.”
Well I guess you could file every other post here under the same heading.
Zing!
Oh c’mon! Garcia is just another Demetris Summers.
His bad attitude and sense of entitlement are going end up making the school look worse.
Randolph – just wondering, but what are the qualifications for watching interceptions?
I don’t need to be Gary Vaynerchuck to know that the $4 merlot on sale at Publix really sucks. I don’t need to be a mechanic to know that I need to take my car in the shop when it starts smoking. And I don’t need to have any qualifications whatsoever to see that Steve Spurrier needs to get us a darn quarterback.
With that said, I agree with Fogle on this one.
