DURING Q&A AT SC DELEGATION BREAKFAST, SAYS QUESTIONER SHOULD ‘BE ASHAMED’

Former presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, who is set to give the keynote speech at tonight’s Republican National Convention in Minnesota, became enraged Tuesday at a breakfast held to thank the South Carolina delegation when asked if he thought Bristol Palin’s pregnancy would detract from the Republican convention.

“Frankly, you should be ashamed of yourself, asking that question,” said Giuliani (video above). “This is a personal issue that the family is handling in the most appropriate way that it can be handled…other American families have had to handle this. They’re handling it in the most appropriate way possible. It doesn’t have the slightest—the slightest—relationship to a presidential campaign.

“And we’d be a better country if this was a thing where there was sort of an internal mechanism where journalists, and the journalistic community said, ‘Well, these are the things that we don’t give a lot of emphasis to,’” Giuliani added.

The exchange aired this morning on ETV’s “The Big Picture on the Radio.”

This and reactions like it will be looked upon the same way that Bill Clinton’s infamous finger waving was in the Democratic Primary. It may be a distraction but it’s one the McCain put on the table when they initially made Palin’s motherhood a qualification for the Vice Presidency – not to mention the ironic reaction by Evangelical leadership. Sure this is something that happens every day, but find me a preacher that says on Sunday morning that premarital sex is ok and should be promoted and the media might just shut up.
