DUGAN, HUFFMAN ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT ON FACEBOOK, BRIDESMAIDS TO BE ON UPCOMING SEASON OF AMAZING RACE

The South Carolina couple that steamed up “Survivor: China” have announced that they are getting married. And two of the bridesmaids are starring in another popular CBS reality show.

Jaime Dugan of Spartanburg, a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina, met Greenville native and Furman grad Erik Huffman on “Survivor” last summer and the two hit it off. At least, that’s what I’m told because I stopped watching Survivor about five years ago when that moron who won the first season was sent to prison for tax evasion.

Anyway, on Monday, Dugan sent a message to friends on the social networking site Facebook announcing that she and Huffman were engaged and that they have entered a contest to win a free wedding in Charleston. LOLZ!

Hey Yall!!

Well for those of you that haven’t heard the fun news…ERIK AND I ARE ENGAGED :) We are so excited. I couldn’t be happier!

We need your help to win the wedding of our dreams. We both want to go home to good ol SC for our wedding. As most of you know, Charleston is my favorite place in the entire world. We had a few people mention the “Charleston Wedding Giveaway” to us and we decided to send in a tape. IT WAS HILARIOUS so I hope the judges will like it.

They pick the finalists in a few weeks. So keep your fingers crossed! Until then, we are asking friends to go on the site and post on the wall. “Vote for Jaime and Erik” or anything you would like. It would be a HUGE HELP!

Here is the site:

Thanks so much! And please pass it on to all of your friends. :)

Even though Dugan is smoking hot and it’s always sad to see a good one taken off the market, they’ve still got my vote. Because nothing brings me more happiness than seeing true reality show love blossom. That and the joy of seeing freedom finally flourish in China.

In a very related story, two of Dugan’s bridesmaids will be on the upcoming season of the Amazing Race. USC graduates Marisa Axelrod and Brooke Jackson will star in the 13th installment of the popular CBS show, which debuts Sept. 28.

Will true reality love blossom again for these South Carolinians? Let’s hope so, because like the City of Columbia, that would be “famously hot.”

Fools names, like their faces, are often seen in public places!

To johndozier: don’t know who you are, but your comment is rather childish. if you wish to remain private, then do so. if someone else is comfortable in the public eye, then that is their choice. and now that your name is on this comment board for everyone to see, does that make you a fool too?

These people are all so bland… why are only generic, boring pretty people and total nutcases cast on reality shows? How about someone we can root for for a change!

Here’s hoping the bridesmaids fail early on the race… of course, that’s pretty much a given!

That is exciting news! What are the chances that two people from SC meet in China? Awesome! Good luck to them. They are a good looking couple.

Let me guess, John is a FOOL and ugly. Ugly people are always frustrated when attractive people do well in life. I hope the SC girls do well in the race! Loretta, maybe you should be positive for a moment and wish SC natives luck rather then talk bad about them when you dont even know them. I am sure they are sweet girls. It is not a given, they will prob. do well. Do we always have to cheer for the folks with sappy stories?

to loretta chen: sour grapes, perhaps? if you don’t know these people, then what qualifies you to be their judge? i realize that not everyone likes reality tv. i’m guessing you don’t either. i know that some people have given reality tv a bad name. but unless you know these people, who are you to decide that they are bland and boring, or that the amazing race girls will do poorly? you come across as bitter and jealous in your comment. maybe you should give these people the benefit of the doubt; you might actually like some of them. if not, maybe you and johndozier should hook up.

to jarrad joyce and claire joyner: i agree!

I actually know Erik. We attended Furman and were Fraternity Brothers. The guys would often tease him about being a pretty boy, but he is really a very nice, down to earth guy. Believe it or not, I actually thought he was somewhat reserved in college. He is an excellent musician and was actually asked by some producer to do the show. He never sought it out. Anyway, the people who are critical of those individuals who are successful and in the spotlight are nothing more than jealous because they are not successful themselves.

It’s not that we are jealous of these two, it’s just that they are so incredibly annoying! This video makes me want to vomit–especially the “gangsta” thing at the end, puhleaze. These 2 earned a combined $85,000 on Survivor…I think they can afford a wedding. Give it to someone who truly needs it!

I personally would love to see a profile on the other couples…I’ve personally had enough of our native SC “celebs”
