FORMER WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY, FOX NEWS ANCHOR DEAD AT 53

America is mourning the loss of a great man today. Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Anchor Tony Snow has died at the age of 53 after battling colon cancer.

President Bush noted that Snow was “a gifted speechwriter who served in my father’s Administration” and that “America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character.”

Snow truly reinvented the role of the president’s chief spokesman because of the way he combined his insight as both a journalist and public relations guru to command the message while making reporters love him. The video of his final day at the White House above is particularly telling of how those who knew him felt about him.

South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson said Snow was “a gentleman who brought an unmatched enthusiasm and love to everything he did.

“He understood the importance and power of honesty and humor whether it be as a writer, commentator, or public servant,” Wilson said. “Throughout all his accomplishments, his wit and professionalism defined his character and his career.”

By all accounts, Snow remained positive to the very end, encouraging everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. Perhaps that was truly his most important message.

Tony Snow was like a congressman who leaves office to work as a lobbyist.

Great man, my arse. RIP, but they didn’t call him Snow Job for nothing.

He was just one more party hack furthering the Bush Crime Family agenda by lying to the American public.

Go read Hannah Arendt’s “The Banality of Evil” and you’ll get a better perspectice on Tony Snow and the Bushies.

A public servant? Really? Do you get your posts directly from the RNC now?

Apropos that you would have a typo in the third word of a Fox News anchor obit…

Snow had an amount of credabilty as a talk show host on the left coast. That went away when he became a paid damage control shill for the Bush adm.

Interesting readership you have here, Adam. A lot of anger towards a good man whose life was taken tragically too soon.

    Downtown,

Yeah… I’m a little disappointed. They usually behave themselves better than this. I just hope no one acts like this if, God forbid, something similar happens to someone they respect.

Almost as saddening as the unfortunate death of such a devoted yet relatively young father and husband such as Tony Snow is the mean-spirited and bitter response from some of those who have posted here. While one could certainly disagree philosophically with Tony Snow, any reasonable and objective evaluation of Mr. Snow’s life and his contributions to those things that mattered most to him – family, stemming the moral decay of our society, advancing conservatism, promoting free speech, etc. – would lead one to conclude that his was a life well-lived.

Being a better person than those who have posted here such disrespectful and vile tripe, my guess is that Tony Snow is right now saying, “That’s OK. You’re entitled to your opinion…as wrong as it may be. I forgive you.”

Rest in peace, Tony. God bless your wife and children who are now figuring out life without such a devoted husband and father.
