STATE RANKS 13TH IN US FOR SHIPMENTS TO TERRORIST FRIENDLY NATION

Although we fared better than the other Carolina, our state has still exported more than $5 million in products to Iran, whose president is known to have aided and abetted terrorists and has called for the destruction of Israel, between 2001 and 2007.

While that only equates to a little under $750,000 per year, it was still enough for South Carolina to rank 13th overall out of the 50 states, according to the Associated Press. And remember, we’re talking about Iran here — a government that wants nothing more than to wipe all non-Muslims off the map.

Iran’s favorite American product appears to be cigarettes. As much as 158 million dollars worth of cigarettes have been exported since 2001. Vaccines, serums and blood products were next on the list. Other exports seem a little unusual: brassieres, bull semen, cosmetics, fur clothing, sculptures, perfume, musical instruments and possibly even weapons.

Sanction rules allow the sale of agricultural commodities, medicine and a few other categories of goods. But the U.S. also may have shipped Iran equipment needed to launch jets from aircraft carriers, even though it’s believed Iran doesn’t have any carriers. [AP]

Well, that’s a relief, at least we didn’t send them any military…. aww, holy hell.

While it’s unclear whether South Carolina was responsible for any of the jet equipment, weapons or bull semen, our chief export was listed as chemical wood pulp/soda/sulphate.

North Carolina ranked third at $69 million dollars. Their top export was medical supplies.

UPDATE: Less than 24 hours after this story broke, Iran launched at least seven intermediate and long range test missiles. Reports are that they have the capability of reaching Israel and U.S. bases in the region. Thankfully, the footage appears to be too grainy to see “Palmetto Pride” written on the side of the rockets.

Are we actually at war with Iran, or are we just picking and choosing our enemies @ Geo. Bush?

I fail to see anything wrong with exporting consumer goods to Iran.

Just because the GOVERNMENT of Iran is bad doesn’t mean the PEOPLE of Iran deserve to suffer.

Why not? It was part of the Governor’s leadership training while he was in Cuba. In fact, Fidel himself conducted the lecture.

I think that is why the Governor did not deploy with his unit-security clearance issues.
