DISCLAIMER ON SENATOR’S WEBSITE SENDS VISITORS TO VIDEO ABOUT ‘COMING OUT OF CLOSET’
I honestly have no idea what this is all about, but Sen. Jim DeMint’s website, which recently won acclaim from McClatchy Newspapers, is sending visitors to the above YouTube video (ed: NOT PG-13) in which a 20-something guy “comes out of the closet” to his friends. Literally and figuratively.
It’s really not all that funny but it’s certainly an odd thing for a sitting U.S. Senator to have on his Website.
The link can be found on the site’s disclaimer, where it reads “Website by Under The Power Lines” — the company that developed DeMint’s site and apparently these videos as well. When visitors click on “Under the Power Lines,” they are taken to TheCoveShorts’ YouTube page, featuring the above video.
Readers may remember that this same group was responsible for the Phoney Fred Wesbite launched during the height of the Republican presidential primary battle.
Perhaps it would be a good idea for these guys to stay away from the Internet tubes.
View a screen grab of the link on DeMint’s page here.

The guys at the table are almost as clueless as Demint!
The guy with the bandanna is Lindsay Graham.
RQ&A is stooping pretty low to recruit a challenger against DeMint in the next Senate primary.
When I click on the FITS News link located in your sidebar (no screenshot necessary), one can usually view soft-core pornography posted by your business associate, Will Folks.
I’m not sure you have any credibility on this issue.
DT Chucktown,
I think the credibility lies in the fact that none of the aforementioned parties involved are US Senators.
There is a certain level of professionalism required from our US Senators, and having this video on DeMint’s website doesn’t enhance the already-struggling moral and ethical reputation of our current Congress. Let’s not forget that DeMint did come to the defense of those senators caught up in the DC Madam scandal.
Maybe this is the real DeMint shining through once and for all.
-Marty
Your story is bogus. If you examine the DeMint webpage, at the bottom it does state “Website by Under the Power Lines”. However, when you click the name, it takes you to their real website “http://politicalnetroots.com”. It DOES NOT take you to the site you misleadingly have written about. Now maybe you were not so bright and rather thought you’d just type the web address as “underthepowerlines.com”. Sadly, you were mistaken. You have made a FALSE allegation about Senator DeMint’s website. Try sticking to the truth! You have no decency. You like to make yourself feel better by telling lies.
haha now thats more interesting than politics
Marty,
Smear artists like you and hired gun Adam Fogle certainly aren’t doing anything to enhance the “moral and ethical reputation of our current Congress” when you spuriously attack upstanding, moral individuals.
To insinuate that Sen. DeMint is somehow personally responsible for this video is absurd. As you know, his hired consultants (much in the same way that I understand Sen. Lindsey Graham utilizes the services of RQ&A, to which Adam is affiliated) committed a gaffe.
Admitting that all humans are capable of great sinfulness is a foundational belief of Christianity, NOT a defense of Sen. Vitter’s immoral behavior.
Adam and Marty, the peddling of misinformation and unfounded insinuations on this website needs to stop.
Misleading,
They changed the link about 15 minutes after the story ran. If you view the provided screen grab you’ll see the old link. Nice try though.

Actually its apparent to anyone with half a brain that the videos are not produced by warren tompkins et al. but instead by some college guys who happen to own the domain name underthepowerlines.com.
I’m sure you know how to do a whois search adam, so that begs the question why you ran with this lame attempt to smear senator demint.
Oh wait I just answered my own question
DT Chucktown,
Please do not group me with this Adam guy again. I have a reputation to uphold, however tarnished it may be.
In response to your post, I don’t believe any insinuation was made as to Demint’s personal involvement in the production of the video. And being a member of Congress opens you to criticism of moral and ethical standards. That’s why I mentioned how he was a member of Congress, not just a discussion of his moral character as a private citizen.
It may be true that his consultants committed a gaffe, but you know what they say about the company you keep.
-Marty
P.S. - “Admitting that all humans are capable of great sinfulness…” - Is that a reference to Demint’s quote or to the consultant’s gaffe(s)?
Marty - Stop being so obtuse. Demint’s consultants obviously didn’t make the videos. The only gaffe here is adam’s and yours for perpetuating the smear.
