REFORM SC SPOT TOUTS BAD SPENDING PRACTICES, NOT INCLUDING $101K GIVEN TO THEM BY GUV

With the twilight of his governorship fast approaching, South Carolina’s Mark Sanford has embarked on a new journey to keep himself relevant. That journey is called “Reform SC” and the governor has just released its first television ad.

But since he can’t really run for anything in this state, and since he pretty much threw away his shot at becoming the next vice president, I’m guessing the objective of this is to make Sanford the Supreme Commander of his own cult. They could be called the Sanfordites and build a nice little compound somewhere in Marlboro County.

In the 30-second spot attacking the legislature’s out-of-control budgetary waste, Sanford says, “I’d simply ask that anyone who believes in this notion of responsible spending and limited government to take action by calling their local senator or representative.”

While he makes a great point, Sanford forgot to ask you to call his office about the $101,524 in taxpayer money he gave to the very group who cut the ad, Reform SC (or at least its red-headed step-brother Carolinians for Reform).

So I’ll help him out. You can reach Sanford’s office at (803) 734-2100.

“since he pretty much threw away his shot at becoming the next vice president”

Whoever shares McCain’s ticket is going to share the blame for his loss in November. Romney, Huckabee, and anyone else with half a brain should (and are) try to avoid being on that ticket such that they’ll have more credibility for the salvaging of the Republican party that will be nessecary in 2009.

Marky Mark… reforming the corrupt government is not really his mission is it?? He refuses to help people that have been pilfered and abused by the government. He doesn’t care one iota about anyone that doesn’t give money to him. So he is not a true reformer. A true reformer, cares about every single human the government is supposed to represent…… o wait, that’s old civics . Mark practices neo conservativism or more precisely, lassez faire liberalism right?

Actually, Rick, didn’t Sanford give that $101,000 to Carolinians For Reform — a totally different Sanford slush fund?

Actually, K, my name is Adam and if you think Carolinians for Reform and Reform SC are somehow not guided by the exact same forces, then you’re anonymity suits your stupidity quite well.

…And, Rick, if you think that making big mistakes like that are just totally acceptable for you bloggers, then that’s why you’ll continue to be relegated to where yours currently stands in the journalistic community…just slightly above Will Folks.

These ads are not about issues or candidates, these ads are about promoting Mark Sanford. He is a self-promoting politician that has used SC like we were peasants.

He has raised millions to promote “the cause”…but all he has done is enriched himself
