REGISTER OF DEEDS TIM NANNEY REPORTEDLY MAKES NEARLY $800,000

According his Statement of Economic Interests form filed with the State Ethics Commission on April 14, Greenville County Register of Deeds Timothy Nanney has an annual income of nearly three-quarters of a million dollars.

Nanney lists the county as his only source of income with a salary of $772,449.96. If that number is accurate, that would mean the earns only $9,000 less than the state’s two highest paid employees combined.

I’m not sure what exactly a Register of Deeds does to earn all that loot, but I’m pretty sure it’s not for overseeing the office’s mission to “provide for the recordation, maintenance and availability of county records dealing with real and personal property.”

So either it’s a typo, or Nanney’s father-in-law Bob Taylor, who has been on the County Council (which oversees employee salaries) since the dawn of man, hooked him up with a sweet paycheck. Three cheers for nepotism!

Obviously a typo…is that the inside scoop you’re getting from RQ&A from Gloria’s campaign? Also, try to get your facts straight…Bob Taylor was elected to County Council in 2000…the same year Gloria was crowned Queen, err, I mean elected to the Legislature…hardly since the dawn of man.

He probably could not get a job without the help of his pappy-in-law – how pathetic,
man you people in Greenville need a good flush up there (a polticial cleansing at the local level)

Backyard…you obviously don’t have a clue about Greenville since Nanney is elected and beat several other people in a highly contested race to win that position. It had nothing to do with his “pappy-in-law” unless he somehow controls all of Greenville’s GOP primary voters.

It is a typo. There is an extra 7 at the beginning. The salary is 72,000 (and a bit). Please post a correction.

Furthermore, Nanney’s resume is impressive. Read it before assuming he couldn’t do anything else.

Stop believing everything you read. Click the first link in this article and look up the correct amount yourself. Filing year 2008, last name Nanney, and check out the last amendment to this filing. You will see the correct amount.
