SCOTT V. ROSE RACE PROVES IT
I don’t know State Sen. Randy Scott from a hole in the wall. I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all, but after watching the above video I’m wondering how on God’s green earth this guy ever won an election.
Granted the video was put together by former Sen. Mike Rose, who is challenging Scott in the June primary. And granted it only presents a few out-of-context excerpts from Scott’s “speech.”
But it’s incredible that someone could say pretty much nothing and do much pretty much nothing and still get elected to two terms.
The video is about three minutes longer than it needs to be and has way too many text cutaways, but it hits on the point that Scott might just be a moron.
To see what I mean, go to the 1:06 mark of the video. Watch that for about 25 seconds and then go to the 2:09 mark for another 40 seconds or so.
And I’m not completely sure, but I think fellow blogger Earl Capps has a cameo in there. If so, sorry to rip on your boy Earl, but this guy is probably better fitted for or than the state senate. Of course, he probably fits right in with the current crop of legislators.

UPDATE: Earl Capps just called me and informed me that he was just moderating the event and that he’s probably not voting for either one of them. He also left a comment below, just to clarify.
sorry Adam, the moron here could possibly be you. To fairly evaluate a mans character, why would you use a video clip pieced together by his opponet? Actualy its not to hard to tell the difference between a man and a hole in the wall either.

Thanks for the clarification regarding my neutrality. As the moderator, I have to be neutral or else someone else would have needed to do it.
I would stand up and introduce them, then I’d sit down and let them talk for 10 minutes each. When both were done, they would both stand up from and take questions from the audience. During the Q&A session, I was standing between the two of them was responsible for picking the questioners out.
Rose’s guy was recording from the far left of the room, or else some of the video would have me standing to Mike’s right, instead of just me to Randy’s left.
I was wondering why Mike kept standing so far by himself. Now I know. It was so Mike would either give the camera a better shot OF him, or keep Randy from taking one AT him. The hostility was so strong that you could feel it.
That was the first, and last, time I’ll ever moderate an event between those two.
Isn’t a shame that this is what Summerville has to choose from? Countless people say they wish they had a third choice. But, when your senators have only been Bill Branton, Mike Rose and Randy Scott for the past 28 years, no wonder you can’t get ahead. Dirty politics in Dorchester County keeps solid candidates out of the race.
Well to be fair, here is the link on Youtube to the both sides of the “discussion” . I think you will find that it doesn’t get much better for Mr. Scott. Too bad the question and answer sessions wasn’t recorded as well. Watch the entire video and you make up your mind though I would agree that Scott fits the Columbia Good Ol’ Boy network better of the two at least Mike Rose will speak his mind and not something being fed to him

I cannot get over some of you people. Rose you are a big joke. I’ve never heard anything good about you. I’ve heard you get a loan and don’t pay it back and you ride around with Senator car tags and you are not one. Is that not impersonating someone I thought that was against the law. Mr. Earl if you are not voting for either one you must be a Democrats. However, if you are a Republican and not voting I would be ashamed to say something like that. Sen. Scott is a good man and for you to pull a trick with that video you are a disgrace to the Republican Party. If you make fun of him because he is an auctioneer then I bet you make fun of people with special need and all different types of handicap. All of you sound like a child that is spoiled and not getting their way or a rich snob that think you are better than everyone else. I guess you people do not know what a GOOD OL’ BOY is. I would think Rose and Nash would be that since Rose knew what was going on at the jail before anyone else seem to know. Or would you just call that being dishonest. (I WOULD CALL IT BOTH) nash is suppose to be such a good Christian and for him to pull all the things he has pulled, Nash is the kind of Christian that gives good Christians a bad name. Mr. Boatwright I know you use to be a good person and I sure hope hanging around w/ nash and rose has not changed you. You now what they saying when you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas.
