GRAHAM SAYS TROOPS ARE KICKING ARSE,
DOESN’T ACTUALLY SAY ‘ARSE’

Speaking at the Vets for Freedom rally outside the Capitol Tuesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham took an opportunity to really reach the pro-war base. After getting teed-up by Sens. John McCain and Joe Lieberman, Graham knocked out quite a gem.

According to Jonathan Martin:

“You want to know who wants you to come home more than anybody?” Graham continued. “al Qaeda because you’re kicking their ass.”

This came less than a week after Graham basically called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a “cootie queen,” to which she reportedly replied, “Who are you calling a cootie queen you lint licker?” I’m pretty sure the Orbit gum lady will be paying him a visit very soon.

________

UPDATE: Surprise, surprise. The liberal blogosphere is up in arms over this.

Think Progress said Graham’s comments today — including his kind words for General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker during the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing — was “a moment reminiscent of President Bush’s overblown war rhetoric.” Meanwhile, Talking Points Memo sarcastically chided that Graham “found it impossible to suppress his admiration for [Petraeus] and [Crocker]” and some guy named Alan D. Williams wrote that Graham can “kiss my ass.”

Actually, al Qaeda Iraq wants our troops to stay in Iraq more than anyone, because if the American troops leave, both Sunni and Shia will turn on and obliterate al Qaeda Iraq. So Huckleberry is advocating a course of action that is vital to the survival of al Qaeda Iraq.
