Tom Davis has been doing Sanford’s dirty work for years...so don't think this campaign will be clean.

Someone should ask Tom the REAL reason he left the governor's office the last time...

Oh how i hear those skeletons rattling...

He said, he said, he said and he aint saying.

Let's settle this thing with an easy solution.

Strap Tom Davis and Rod Shealy down for a polygraph.

What say you Mr. Davis?

What say you Mr. Shealy?

Tommy Boy hired this guy?

Henry Tome?

Who is Henry Tome?

Iglesias imposter arrested for enticement

BEAUFORT -- A Beaufort man was arrested Monday for a Dec. 7 incident in which he posed as a popular singer, helped a 14-year-old girl skip school and then took her on a date, police said.

Henry Tome, 28, was charged with enticing a minor from school for the incident, which happened after he met her in a Kmart and spoke to her on the phone the week before, Sgt. Daryl Rhoads of the Beaufort Police Department said.

The girl met Tome behind the gym before school started Dec. 7, according to reports, and the girl's friend alerted school officials of the plan later in the day.

The victim called her father after Tome took her to McDonald's and Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, the report states.

Tome told the girl his name was Enrique Iglesias, Rhoads said.

It pays to have friends at City Hall New or should be we call this the Good-Ol-Boys ride again?

I guess it helps that Bill Harvey, the City Attorney, is also a partner at the Harvey & Battey law firm with Tommy Boy.

Who else could (or is that may) get away with this?

Something doesn't add up. Or as the Bard would say, There is something rotten in the City of Beaufort.

Is doesn't mean is anymore and obviously only in Beaufort must means nothing.

Stay with me here. Class now pay attention.

CLASS!

This is basic law school 101: must versus may.

The provisions regarding the issuance of a temporary license that are cited in the Gazette story are incorrect as a matter of law. Before all you lawyer types tee up the "I'm gonna sue you," I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

If the painting firm applied for a temporary business license after the fact (as reported in an AP story), it is contrary to Beaufort City Code.

Section 7-1002(21) of the Code defines a temporary license and notes "this license must be issued prior to beginning any work on the specified job ...."

The wise city fathers (and lone mother) when constructing the Code made it a mandatory requirement that the license be "issued prior to beginning any work."

It was not written as a discretionary act allowing the clerk to issue the license after the work has begun. If that was the intent of the City Council the language would reflect that and allow for it: "this license may be issued ...."

Or maybe it should read "this license may be issued .... and if you are among the rich and powerful, don't trouble yourself to follow the law we got special ways to fix that."

Violations of the business license provisions are classified as a misdemeanor (unless of course you meet with one of the newly created special exceptions to the must issue requirement).

Class dismissed.

I don't see how Rod is the bad guy. Tom Davis is the guy hiring illegal aliens.

I heard Sanford's plantation is crawling with illegals that work there. But I don't know for sure...though I am sure Tom Davis could tell us.

Perhaps the Governor and Davis share a "coyote".

Rich Republicans using illegal labor. Who would have thought it!

Haha...why the outrage. Rich people exploiting illegal’s is WHY we have an immigration problem. So Tom Davis should join all the other rich right-winger an enjoy the money he has made, while watching US jobs being shipped overseas!
