New SC GOP presidential poll
The latest Rasmussen Reports poll of South Carolina Republican voters has just been released and for the time in months, Sen. John McCain has grabbed the lead. Fresh off his big win in the New Hampshire primary, McCain has picked up 15 points since mid-December. Mike Huckabee fell to second and Mitt Romney stayed put in a distant third. Fred Thompson, who is banking everything on a win in this state, is four points behind Romney in fourth.
Here are the Republican totals:
John McCain - 27%
Mike Huckabee - 24%
Mitt Romney - 16%
Fred Thompson - 12%
Rudy Giuliani - 6%
Ron Paul - 5%
Other - 3%
Undecided - 6%
UPDATE: Here are the Democratic numbers:
Barack Obama - 42%
Hillary Clinton - 30%
John Edwards - 15%
Bill Richardson - 2%
Undecided - 10%

If things stay this way it will be the end for Fred Thompson. This is the state he is supposed to fight to win, but most reports I have seen indicate that it is between McCain and Huckabee. Well he has about a week to change things.
I am a Republican from AR and I hope and pray the people of SC will reject Huckabee and his liberal ways. He has lied his way to where he is now. He raised taxes in AR by over 500 million, he drastically increased the size of government, he did everything he could to encourage illegal immigration including ensuring illegals could get drivers licenses. He has a ton of ethical issues including taking money for pardons. Please go to Arkansasnews.com and read David Sanders stories about Huckabee killing our party here. He campaigned for democrats because the republicans would not go along with his tax hikes and open border policies. Please look at what he did not what he says.
