The Palmetto Scoop has learned that former Myrtle Beach mayor and 2004 U.S. Senate “candidate” Mark McBride is set to announce his intention to challenge Sen. Lindsey Graham in the Republican Primary next June. McBride told several people at a recent Horry County GOP event — keynoted by Gov. Mike Huckabee — that he was going to “jump in the race in the next few weeks.”
Wait… Mark who? Isn’t he the lead singer of Sugar Ray? Nope, that’s Mark McGrath.
Anyway, if you do remember McBride then you’ll recall that he earned a staggering 2 percent of the vote in the 2004 primary against Sen. Jim DeMint, David Beasley, Thomas Ravenel, and Charlie Condon. I’m not sure why he would want to experience what is sure to be a similarly laughable defeat this time around, but maybe he’s hoping to break into the double digits — or possibly even better than fourth place in his home county.
If nothing else, I’m hoping he’ll create another cool website that nobody looks at. Only this time, I hope he doesn’t loop that obnoxious yib-dur-yab-dir-yee-bah noise crap.
But McBride does have one thing going for him. By keeping his old campaign website active for the last three years, he has prevented Rep. Joe Mahaffey from cyber-squatting his domain name. Now that’s some good strategery!

While this gentleman may be not so popular, perhaps Mr. Graham is even less popular this time around. Has anyone else noticed Mr. Graham advertising nationally for dollars??? That only means We the South Carolina people aren’t giving enough to Mr. Graham. I have not noticed other candidates begging national money, not yet anyway.
In my opinion, everyone has a real shot against Mr. Graham because he simply has not represented the people of South Carolina. He represented Bush back to us.
I will vote for any viable candidate who is not named Lindsey Graham.

When Mark defeats Grahamnesty, you’ll be eating crow, my friend. He is a conservative that we can trust. Unlike the Principle Compromiser Lindsey, I wanna be McCain.
