If you hail from the Big Apple and currently live in South Carolina, then presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani expects your vote. And he would hate it if, ya know, he had to have an “associate” pay you a visit, capice?
So, to reach out to this growing group of outsiders voters, he has brought down a familiar face — Rep. Peter King, a New York Congressman who has been traveling with Giuliani across South Carolina.
This is an interesting approach to say the least, and it appears to be paying off.
I talked to King this afternoon, and he told me he was impressed by the number of New Yorkers at Sun City. “I met a woman who went to the same ice cream soda place in Bay Ridge,” he said. “Another guy was a cop with my father. And there were a lot of people who knew people.” [BYRON YORK - The Corner]
The thing that perplexes me about all this is that these people are in South Carolina for one reason: It isn’t New York. So why then are they trying to turn it into New York?
