For the first time since becoming U.S. Senators, Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint took part in a joint interview that will air Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. on ETV. According to The State, “the interview, conducted by host Andrew Gobeil, was taped Monday, and airs on ‘The Big Picture.’”
Here’s an excerpt from the transcript:
When asked to discuss global warming-the effects of which almost 40 percent of Republicans who participated in the latest Winthrop/ETV poll felt were “being exaggerated”-the two senators had this to say:
Graham: “I think it (global warming) is real. I don’t know how much man is contributing to it, but I know nuclear power is part of the answer.”
DeMint: “There’s no question the Earth has been heating up, but the science that suggests that man is doing it is very questionable at this point. But that is not a good reason for us not to continue to clean up the air. So, irrespective of the reasons, getting carbons out of the air, cleaner air and water is something we need to do.”
Other topics included the latest developments in Pakistan and Iran and the senators’ respective choices for the Republican nominee for president.
