The Myrtle Beach Sun News is reporting that Horry County Council Vice Chairman Marion Dargan Foxworth III was arrested Thursday on loitering charges following an undercover operation targeting street level prostitution.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, a known prostitute was seen by officers entering Foxworth’s white Oldsmobile around Second Avenue South and Myrtle Street. The officers later observed the woman identifed as Dorothy Crossman and Foxworth entering a residence at Canal Street. A short time later, Crossman and Foxworth exited the residence, and Crossman began walking east on Canal Street as Foxworth got into his car.

When police stopped Crossman, she told them that Foxworth had picked her up and taken her home. She said he propositioned her for sex, offering her $20. She told police that she refused to have sex with him but that he let her keep the money.

When officers picked Foxworth up around 5:30 p.m. on Third Avenue South and Withers Swash Drive, he denied any wrongdoing. Officers observed a stain on the left upper thigh part of his pants. He was taken to the Myrtle Beach city jail and charged with loitering for prostitution, according to Myrtle Beach Police Department jail records.
