Roger Harvell of the Greenville News Wednesday published a spot-on cartoon slamming Spartanburg GOP Chairman “Bad Boy” Rick Beltram, who recently came under fire for calling presidential candidate Fred Thompson’s wife Jeri a “trophy wife” at least three times during a speech. Beltram, who is known across the state for pulling childish antics, refused to apologize for the statements and defended his actions by claiming that he also used a similar term to describe Mitt Romney’s wife Ann.
Ironic as it may seem, Beltram is scheduled to hold an “anti-negative campaigning” press conference Thursday. We’ll see if this changes things.
