MASSEY, HIXON HEAD TO RUNOFF
We’ve collected and tabulated the unofficial results from today’s special primary election to fill Tommy Moore’s Senate district:

| 2 | Bill Hixon | 1611 | 30.37% |
| 3 | Chris Corley | 1043 | 19.66% |
| 4 | Susan J. Swanson | 349 | 6.58% |
| 5 | Bernie Hamby | 230 | 4.34% |
| 6 | Jack Montgomery | 89 | 1.68% |
The results will not be official until Thursday and there a few outstanding provisional districts in Aiken County.
Shane Massey and Bill Hixon will face each other in the Oct. 2 runoff. The winner will face Bill Clyburn, who is unopposed as the Democratic candidate, in the general election.
