Reactions: South Africans Think Rihanna Sounds Like Zahara On Her Blank Panther Soundtrack “Lift Me Up”

While Barbadian singer Rihanna is trending around the world for her recently released single “Lift Me Up,” her South African counterpart Zahara is trending alongside her because Mzansi thinks that, in the song, Bad Gal Riri sounds exactly like their sister back home.

While some South Africans think she sounds like Zahara, some are of the view that she sounds like the Nigerian singer Tems as well. And yet others believe that those saying Rihanna sounds like Zahara may be setting up the South African for some dragging. You can check out some of the comments below.

Zahara has not said anything about the song and claims that Riri sounded like her. She probably takes that as a compliment and for a good reason: Riri is way more famous and in a position many around the world desperately wish to be in but might never attain.

At any rate, saying she sounds like Zahara indirectly affirms the South African’s creative powers. Coming at a time when Zahara is going through some financial woes, it’s all the more significant for the “Loliwe” hitmaker.

To each his own, apparently. If you haven’t listened to “Lift Me Up” by Rihanna, you may want to check it out here and see for yourself if she sounds like Zahara.
