The South Carolina Senate Republican Caucus has created a spiffy new website complete with all the works. It’s formatted as a hybrid blog/traditional website and features YouTube videos as well as news updates, bios, loads of information and useful links.
Here’s a welcome video from Sen. David Thomas for first-time visitors to the SCRSC website:
It’s good to see Republicans embracing the Internet as the best media for communication with constituents. If used well, modern, crisp, clean sites like these laden with multimedia and interactivity are powerful tools. House Republicans would do well to pay attention and beef-up their website.

Scoop,
Thanks for the kind words about the website we designed with the assistance of Brain Gardner. Our firm Under the Power Lines works with Brain to help our concepts, ideas, graphics, and content become a reality on the World Wide Web. He is one of the best Word Press designers in the country, and that’s why we like working with him. But at the end of the day the new SCSRC website was produced by our firm Under the Power Lines.
If you like what you saw make sure to check out http://www.talleyforsenate.com, http://www.nathansnews.com, http://www.kellyforhouse.com, and http://www.shaneforsenate.com. We take pride in our work, and we will be launching several more campaign websites in the coming month.
As Republican web guru Patrick Ruffini will tell you, web strategy is more than just coming up with a great looking website. It’s about converting online support into actual grassroots support. This can be fundraising, recruiting volunteers, or simply spreading your message through a different medium. But at the end of the day, you’re looking for votes in the ballot box on Election Day. That’s what separates Under the Power Lines from other web design firms.
