We don’t speak much Spanish, but we’re pretty sure that the headline roughly translates to “What the hell is this, Mr. Romney?” We ask because we are confused as to why presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) continues to pander over EVERYTHING – and in a very conspicuous manner at that – to anyone who will listen. And it doesn’t make any sense because he’s terrible at it.
But defying that logic Monday, he made YET ANOTHER position-contradicting statement on immigration.
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney praised the virtues of faith, family values and immigration as he courted Hispanic voters.
“If you say, name people who are hardworking, seek education, love God, love their families and value freedom, — it’s Hispanic-Americans, just like other Americans,” Romney told a crowd at the Republican National Hispanic Assembly’s annual convention.
Praising Hispanics as “quintessentially American,” the former Massachusetts governor said the nation’s immigration policy should help open doors for people with such strong beliefs.
“I want to make sure we continue an open door in immigration that welcomes people who come here with those kinds of values,” he said. [ANDREW MIGA - AP]
Uhh… buhh… what? Is this the same guy who lambasted the failed senate bill less than a month ago as a victory for “the people”?
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said the U.S. Senate’s failure to pass an immigration bill backed by President Bush was a “victory for the people.”
“People-one, Washington politicians-zero,” the former Massachusetts governor told reporters near Pittsburgh on Thursday. “I think the failure of this bill is related to the Washington politicians’ failure to connect with the American people.”
Romney said he doesn’t favor deporting the 12 million unlawful immigrants in the United States but also doesn’t want them to receive a “special pathway” to citizenship.
…
“The people’s voice was loud enough and clear enough that the politicians had to retreat,” Romney said. “The bill was flawed and for that reason is not going to be contemplated.” [RAMESH SANTANAM - AP]
Seriously? What the hell? It’s like he crafts one message for Hispanics and then delivers the exact opposite message to everyone else.
Unlike the dolphin, this Flipper really IS faster than lighting.

You’re a f**king idiot. Saying that Hispanics are “hard-working and family oriented” AND saying that the
recently defeated Senate immigration bill is a “victory for the people” are not contradictory statements. Pull your
head out of your ass.
