A study by the Reason Foundation and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte found that South Carolina has the second- yes #2 out of 50 – BEST highway conditions in the U.S. According to the Associated Press, the survey “evaluated roadways by traffic fatality rate, congestion, pavement condition, bridge condition, highway maintenance and administrative costs.”

North Dakota edged-out the Palmetto State to take first. The only other Southern state in the top was Georgia in sixth place. New Jersey was last.
