DeMint's error in choice of words. I do not think so.
The man is human, folks. My bottom dollar, and common sense, says he was only referring to the ill conceived Immigration legislation that was defeated. That was the "subject" of the interview/artical being referred to here. Was it not? I refuse to read that liberal, ....... publication, so I don't know how they "editoralized" or "missquoted" my good Senator's remarks.
There are no fleas on Senator DeMint. He ain't been "lying down with" the likes of one despicable Ted Kenndy and nor the liberal John McCain, as certain other folks seem to have been!
He has never faltered in supporting Our Troops! And never will.

This is my first time to this site and I hope the EDITOR is not always that much of an idiot. DeMint is the true conservative in this case and should be applauded.
The Senate has not thought any of this through and they are trying to ram it down our throats. It is amnesty any way you slice. My old pappy always said "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken crap, no matter how much mayo you add" This BILL is chicken crap and everyone knows it. If we don't do something quick, we are going to have 20mil new citizens drawing off of all our systems.
Does Lindsey Graham honestly believe that the illegals will go back home to process their citizen paperwork. If he believes that then he is a true moron.

Jim DeMint was right on target. It was WRONG, the way Congress tried to railroad this bill through just to appease the f-wording Democrat c-s's. The president was also correct. The status quo is unacceptable. But, what Congress tried to do was force-feed this thing through the system before they went on vacation. If Congress had taken responsibility and handled this thing correctly during this last session, rather than try to [unlawfully] force the president to bring out troops home before the job is done, the results might have been very different, and acceptable. It's not Jim DeMint's fault, and I support his vocal stance on this matter. He was right, and the Senate vote proves it. Any disagreement may continue to suck wind ;-).

When the Psesident is this wrong, he needs to be called to task.
Demint has done that. And I salute him for it.

Although I completely agree that Bush's bill would be a slap in the face to the American people as well as to all those have immigrated here legally, I am embarrassed to have the likes of Senator DeMint representing my home state.

While out one evening I had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting Jim DeMint. It was in a public place where he was intoxicated and harrassing people around him. Would be different were he out with the few of the good ole boys in a private gathering, but for our politicians to behave this way in public is disgraceful. Had that been me I would have been tossed out of the place. The establishment said they couldn't toss DeMint though, they feared he has too much power and they would lose their jobs. Shame on DeMint.........I think he should be up North with Ted Kennedy.

Thank You Senator DeMint! At least you are listening. I believe we have the laws on the books to handle the illegal alien problem....what we apparently don't have is the intestinal fortitude to enforce them! The basic problem is we have two sets of lawbreakers...the aliens and the employers of them. Prosecute both. I would rather pay more for my grapes and less in taxes. At least I could choose not to buy grapes...I have no choice but to pay the high taxes that are in part caused by the give-away programs.

SaawGrass and the rest of the "Palmetto Scoop" team,

Perhaps if I made unwarranted personal attacks like you do on this blog, then my readership would pick up considerably. Your mud-slinging and petty remarks have certainly warranted the name change I mentioned in my last comment.

Wow did you think that up all on your own swampfox? Maybe your lack of originality has something to do with your lack of readers on your site even though you ripped off one of sc's most famous people. Get a life.

Lindsey Graham is your problem. After supporting bush all these years a lot of us out here don't like our motives and character being impugned by bush and his attack dogs. The elite country club republicans like graham, snowe, collins, voinivich should be ashamed of themselves for tearing apart the Party of Lincoln.
