SENATOR SEEKS TO UNDERCUT PRESIDENT BUSH

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) has turned into the Al Sharpton of the immigration debate. Wherever there’s a microphone, he will grab it. DeMint d’oh

Tuesday, however, DeMint went too far in his campaign to kill immigration reform. He told the Wall Street Journal that, “[President Bush] has climbed way out on a limb, and we’re going to cut it off.” And we’re outraged.

Regardless of where you stand on the immigration issue, this comment is out of line. It is deplorable that a sitting Republican U.S. Senator, representing the people of South Carolina, would launch a negative personal attack against President Bush. And his metaphorical choice of words was especially ugly. To talk about “cutting off the limb” of our commander-in-chief at a time when American troops are bravely risking their limbs in the war against global terror is… well… “DeMinted.”

He ought to be ashamed of himself. DeMint’s personal attack helps the Democrats in their relentless campaign to erode the president’s credibility at home and around the world. He has gone beyond exploiting an emotionally-charged issue. This is more than just a poor choice of words, it exposes the sad fact that DeMint’s ruthless tactics of self-promotion know no bounds.

He owes a lot of people, including President Bush, an apology.

The only limb that needs to be cut off is DeMint, what were we thinking picking this Sanford clone? What with T Rav and Demint the rest of the US must think were more backwards than we really are.

I think he has just gotten such a big head from all of the media attention regarding the immigration debate that his tounge got ahead of his brain on this one. He doesn’t have to like Bush, and Bush approval ratings may be way down - but Bush is still the sitting President of the United States and still holds extreme amounts of power- suffice it to say it is probably not in his or S.C. best interest for a 1st term Sen. who hasn’t even finished half a term yet to go around roundly insulting the President of the United States (as you note, from his own party).

How DARE the editor of this paper compare Senator DeMint to Al Sharpton? Senator DeMint, in my opinion, didn’t go far enough. This paper has no idea just how incensed a majority (yes, I’d go so far as to declare a majority) of the people in this state are with regard to President Bush and Senator Graham’s LACK of regard with respect to ‘comprehensive immigration reform’. That particular bill, in its present form, is nothing more than a complete and utter disregard for the fact fewer than one-third of the American people want this legislation passed. But, like a vampire that refuses to die, President Bush et al continue to resurrect what I consider to be a bill that holds the American public in complete contempt. Were our Founding Fathers alive today, they’d take up arms and storm the White House and Congress to bring these villains to the square for a public hanging.

The sheer idiocy of the White House propaganda machine in pushing this disastrous immigration bill should be transparent to any thinking American. The White House bemoans the fact if we don’t pass THIS immigration legislation, we won’t have time to formulate another and there will be a de facto amnesty. Why not kill this bad bill and just ‘enforce’ existing law and begin sending the illegal immigrants home? Better yet, enforce the exisiting laws and punitively penalize any and all employers who hire illegal aliens. This is, essentially, what all the fuss is about, isn’t it? ‘cheap labor’?

If this constitutionally-suspect piece of legislation is passed and millions of illegals are given an unearned ‘path to citizenship’, that border wall/fence will NEVER be built. Once this immigration passes, the next agenda coming from the gl0balist cabal will be the ‘Security and Prosperity Partnership Act of North America’ which would effectively merge Mexico, the United States, and Canada, and replace all currencies with the ‘Amero’, or something akin to that (see: European Union and the ‘Euro’). It would be completely counterproductive to have a border wall. That would obstruct the free flow of people, goods and services the Bush White House so desperately wants. The border will never be secure if this passes.

As far as a ‘nation at war’, DeMint does no harm here. His comments are to SECURE this country’s national security, not to weaken it as the President’s (and Senator Graham’s) bill does.

I’d be more in favor of allying myself with our Founding Fathers, at this point.

First, he said that the President was out on a limb and that they would cut the tree limb. You morphed it into some threat of physical violence by cutting off the President’s leg or arm. Come on…such hyperbole. You really are stretching it. The faux moral outrage is palpable. You guys are smarter than this. You over played your hand by trying to sound like you had one foot on the ledge.

Or are you morally outraged by my suggesting that you might be thinking about suicide?

How can a tree limb be compared to our troops? What was the editor thinking! I don’t think we should “cut” the president; however his position on illegal imagration is wrong. He is letting us down on this issue. Senator DeMint knows this and is not afraid to step up to the fight. He’s standing his ground and I’m proud of him.

You anti senate immigration people (and some on the other side) don’t get it. Are you really so blinded by rage that youre willing to destroy the once proud Republican Party over the immigration issue? This is crap the Democrats do not us.

My grandfather first switched to this party in the late 1970s. He was so proud during the republican revolution and I was proud for him that it lasted so long. But were destroying the work of that class of 1994. Why are we going to do this over immigration? Why are we buying into rhetoric over common sense? Why dont we just calm down and act like adults so we can preserve what makes us great.

So you don’t like the senate bill, fine. But lets not destroy the GOP because we cant see the big picture. Please

President Bush has had the guts to protect America from the rabid elements attempting to destroy us through their terrorism. He has stood by our gallant young military, some of whom have given their all so that we can enjoy our freedoms.

I do not know to what group or organizations the President has been captured by concerning the defense of our Nation from the terrorists and masses who are walking across our borders and beginning to undermine our way of life. We do not need any NEW immigration laws, we only need to enforce the existing laws. The laws are not flawed, those who are responsible for the execution of these laws are the ones flawed. When we turn our backs to what is happening and we railroad agents who are attempting to do their duty in enforcing existing laws - then we have a problem. A problem that no hastily written laws that are rammed through the congress can cure.

Senator Demint is correct and should be applauded for his efforts. President Bush put himself out on that limb - a limb that should be sawed off in an effort to protect our Democracy. Proud to call Senator DeMint my Senator, ashamed to admit that Lindsey
Graham is from South Carolina, Jim Hicks

The author of this article has been out of touch with the majority of South Carolinians. We have been supportive of the decision Bush made on Iraq Pakistan and Afghanistan and South Carolinians support our troops. After these items, Bush goes down hill real fast in popularity. Senator Demint is voicing the sentiments of his constituency unlike his fellow Senator who is controlled by those politicians who are buttering their own agenda.

Whoever votes for this bill is voting to give our country away. In my opinion that is an insult to every American who fought for the freedoms of this great land.

What we need is to enforce the laws we already have. Secure our borders now. It’s been almost 6 years since 9/11 and anyone who wants to can simply walk across the border and kill us. President Bush, what are you thinking? I used to think highly of you but lately, you have lost my support.

This isn’t about DeMint being “pro” or “anti” anything. This is about a REPUBLICAN Senator acting like a spoiled, whiny DEMOCRAT - who will go so far as to attack President Bush using a disturbing hyperbole - simply to promote his cause.

If that puts us “out of touch” with the DeMint/Romney crowd, then we’re better off for it.

Sen. DeMint is not acting like a spoiled, whiny DEMOCRAT and he was not attacking President Bush. He was affording the President and the rest of the Rinos the same degree of respect they have afforded those of us who oppose, based on careful analysis and well-deserved cynacism given the government’s performance to date on border security and immigration policy enforcement, the ill-conceived, so-called immigration reform bill in the Senate. As a life-long conservative Republican who has recently been insulted by both the President and Sen. Graham I, for one, am grateful that Sen. DeMint is actually vocally pushing back on those who wish to defy the will of the people (not to mention the bloody Constitution!).

If you, ‘The Editor,’ think you’re better off being “out of touch” then I’ll take this as yet another example of how the Republican party is leaving behind critical-thinking, true conservative Republicans such as myself.

You say that Jim DeMint is “acting like a spoiled, whiny DEMOCRAT”. Why, because he’s not rubber stamping this POS AMNESTY bill? I’m happy that we have at least 1 Senator here in SC that is looking out for the will of the people.

Obviously you need to go back to school for reading comprehension….DeMint didn’t ever talk about cutting anything off of the President…..he said that the Pres. went out on a limb with this legislation and that they were going to cut off that limb. In other words, for those of you who are semantically challenged, it’s like cutting out the rotten piece of an apple - get rid of the rotten legislation before it becomes law and kills us all.

I received the email from this website about DeMint, some how it got through my SPAM blocker.
You are a nut case, you sound like one of those people that has to agree with a Republican President, just because they are a Republican President. Get a spine!
or maybe just work on developing your own opinions with reasons. You don’t have to agree with the President on everything. I love Bush and support him as President, not all of his positions on everything though.
What if the President took this stance on immigration knowing there was not a snowball chance in hell it would make it through before the next Presidential election, this would give all Republicans an opportunity to distance themselves from the President on a topic, as well as show what the liberals are really trying to do, a majority of the population does not want this immigration bill to pass (there have been surveys). If Bush is truely doing this he is pure genius, I would like to think this is what he is doing because I too disagree with the position the President has taken on this, but hey, maybe it is all just political strategy to help out the Republican party as a whole.

He has totally supported amnesty, a slap in the face to legal immigrants. He has lost sight of America and seems to want to destroy our fabric.

The Amnesty bill has shown us the true nature of Senator DeMint. If it fails in the Senate we can proudly say that Senator DeMint had more to do with it’s failure than any other Senator. If it goes to the House we have Rep. Henry Brown who will fight it. I thank God for both of them.

In my mind is a picture of Lindsey Graham tarred and feathered and being ridden out of town on a rail. In back of him is a sign which says “South Carolina”. To his front is an arrow sign pointing to Mexico.

Jim DeMint may have used a poor choice of words in one tiny instance, but in the grand scheme of the immigration debate, he is one of the few people standing up for Americans. He is doing a great job and he should confront those, including Bush and Lindsey Graham, who are trying to sell out our country to Mexico. If the President were holding a gun to all of our heads, would you expect DeMint to politely tow the party line? No way. He has my support all the way.

I believe Lindsey Graham–a good man–was sincere in believing that this bill is the best action on illegal immigration we can realistically hope for, but obviously most South Carolinians aren’t buying it. Jim DeMint, also a good man, is representing the large majority of his constituents, who are more concerned about the “path to citizenship” (not quite amnesty, but very similar) than about the fines and other requirements this bill would impose. This bill would not succeed in deterring further illegal immigration, and that’s our concern.

President Bush is a much better president than any Democrat of our time, but on this issue he is wrong–and Senator DeMint has a perfect right to say so. Palmetto Scoop, you are the one who has gone too far.

The worst politician we have is Lindsey Graham who is apparently aiming for the Presidency and figures that trading SC votes for Hispanic votes in a national election is a win. Luckily, he now has a new nickname of “Lindsey GrAmnesty” which will haunt him for quite some time.

He took on Harry REid and the establishment and now the President who has really went out on a limb. However, he wants a unified North America which will dissolve our sovereignty. This amnesty bill is just one step toward that goal. Thank God, there are those in DC who realize what the American people elected them for and Jim Demint is one of those who represents his constituents. If you want “Whiny”. His name is Grahamnesty. An interesting note about border security between the U.S. and Mexico is that there is none. I was on a recent vacation in Big Bend National Park and was surprised to see that the Rio Grande river is only a foot deep in some places and you can easily walk over to Mexico or vice versa. If the Mexicans can simply walk over…then terrorists can too. So why did we spend so much money on Iraq?

I think Bush supports “big business” which needs “cheap labor” and that means lots of “illegal immigrants” at the expense of middle class America who fund social security and pay the majority of taxes that run our country. Middle class America often gets the blunt end of the deal…however they elect the very people that hurt them in the long run.

Years ago, the republican party was all about being “fiscally conservative” and this latest group of republicans has managed to out spend any group of democrats hands down. I’m surprised we have printing machines that can print money fast enough. I do hope that the republican party can get back to its fiscal conservative roots someday.

Lindsey McGraham Having A Very, Very Bad June

It really wasn’t all that long ago that Lindsey Graham was in the cat bird’s seat. He ran for the US Senate as a strong bible-belt conservative, and South Carolinians took the bait, hook, line, and sinker, as they say. He got lots of TV time during Slick Willie’s impeachment, and the mainstream media, especially the flaming liberals over at CNN, were intrigued. Who, they asked, is this hokey, effeminate Republican Senator, a confirmed-bachelor, military veteran (not a blood-thirsty killer, but a desk-jockey lawyer, so we can still love him), and raised behind a beer joint in Central, SC?

Over the next few months, Lindsey Graham became a drive-by media darling, a cable news rock star. How? Well, he basically turned to all those conservative folks in South Carolina, who elected him and sent him to Washington to represent their views and principles, and gave them the middle-finger salute. Mr. Graham decided that he’d rather be a DC insider, a “player”, than a rock-solid conservative representative of the good people of South Carolina. So, Mr. Graham told the good people of South Carolina to kiss his ass.

It happened quickly. First, Mr. Graham injected himself into the terrorism debate following 9/11. How? By fighting, and pleading passionately on the floor of the Senate, for the rights of terrorists, the cold-blooded killers of American children, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. He argued that these murderers, who worship a God that tells them to destroy America by killing every last one of its citizens, should have the exact same rights as those citizens in a court of law. Did he weep for America’s children? Never even a misty eye from Mr. Graham for Americans, or the South Carolinians who elected him. He was fighting, pleading, begging for the rights of terrorists, and CNN and the rest of the liberal media felt a stir in their collective loins. And back in South Carolina, his office phones lit up. The folks who elected Lindsey were pissed. And I mean, really pissed. Graham said it was only the “loud folks” making noise. And the folks over at CNN started to swoon.

Next, Mr. Graham sold his soul to the devil, John McCain. Mr. McCain believed Graham could help him to victory in the critical 2008 South Carolina Presidential Primary, and he nuzzled up to Lindsey, and Lindsey nuzzled back. Shortly thereafter, McCain and Graham were 2 of the 7 GOP members of the Gang of 14. They were locked at the hip. Graham believed he had been anointed Vice President. And back in South Carolina, they had to add capacity down at the phone company just to handle the calls to Mr. Graham’s office from those pissed off voters. They screamed into the answering machines, because Mr. Graham’s handlers had stopped answering the phone. But again, said Lindsey, it’s only the “loud” folks. Most folks support what I’m doing, said Mr. Graham. And CNN started getting that tingly feeling in their collective nether regions.

Finally, basking in the stage lights of CNN’s portable studio and feeling invincible, Lindsey made the mistake that killed his career. He was asked by John McCain to join a secret band of co-conspirators to write an Immigration bill for GW Bush, and ram it through the Senate. He and Johnny Mac went into a room, closed the door, got down on their knees, and bowed to Ted Kennedy. Then, instead of an Immigration bill, they wrote an Amnesty bill. Folks back in South Carolina went ballistic. Senator Jim DeMint came down on the side of logic and reason, and was embraced by a South Carolina electorate that, up until then, was ambivalent about him.

And what did Lindsey Graham do?

He went before LaRaza, the radical Hispanic tool of Ted Kennedy that wants to reclaim the Southwest US for Mexico (by force), and told them that he supports amnesty, that he was fighting to legalize every single criminal trespasser that exists, and he was going to tell all those “bigots” back in South Carolina to shut up. Yes, he cried big tears as he said it, and yes, CNN was there.

He stood side-by-side with Teddy “Splash” Kennedy, one of the most despicable human beings to ever walk the earth, looked at him lovingly, and said, “You are one of the most principled men I have ever met.” Yes, he really said it. I’m not making it up.

He stood on the floor of the US Senate and cried, really cried, because it appeared the immigration bill would die. He pleaded for amnesty for all the criminal trespassers. He said that not only should we legalize them all, but that they should be allowed to bring every single relative to the US as a legal citizen as well. He banged on the podium. He basically pitched a child-like fit (Michelle Malkin nicknamed him “Senator Hissy”).

And he cut off all contact with the folks back in South Carolina. No Town Hall Meetings to hear their views (Mr. DeMint, did, by the way). His offices, all of them, simply stopped answering the phone, and refused to return messages. He continued to show up on CNN and the other drive-by news outlets to say that “the majority” of folks back in South Carolina supported him, and that it was only the few “loud people” and “bigots” in South Carolina who were making all the noise. He said he was smarter than South Carolina’s voters, and that we should just trust him in DC. He told us to kiss his ass.

And CNN looked at Lindsey Graham, and declared, “This is the man I’m going to marry!”

In June 2007, though, Senator Lindsey Graham’s world began to implode, and his political career with it:

    - As it turns out, there are a bunch of “loud people” in South Carolina. In a recent poll by a nationally respected firm of nearly 1000 South Carolinians, 70% said they disapprove of the job he is doing as our representative. 80% (four out of five) said they do not want the current immigration bill (The Grahamnesty Bill) passed. And an overwhelming majority of South Carolina Republicans said they want Graham to stop pandering to Democrats, and instead work to represent the conservative values of South Carolina.

    - Lindsey Graham’s meal ticket is all punched out. John McCain’s presidential campaign is on life-support, his polling numbers are in free fall, the money has stopped coming in, and there are strong indications Mr. McCain will withdraw his candidacy before the end of the summer. The coat tails that Lindsey was riding are being ripped to shreds, and Mr. Graham is finding no sympathy back in South Carolina.

    - Graham’s own campaign donations from inside South Carolina have effectively stopped. The staff is in panic mode. A SC GOP constituency that gave very generously to Graham’s last effort is, in effect, this time telling the Senator to kiss its collective ass.

    - Mr. Graham’s Amnesty Bill is being slowly strangled by logical, patriotic heroes in the Senate, including Senator DeMint and Jeff Sessions of Alabama.

    - With SC Treasurer Thomas Ravenel’s indictment on drug charges, the gloves are officially off for the 2008 elections. This can only be a bad thing for a man with the littered closet of Mr. Graham.

So, Lindsey Graham, once the favorite son of South Carolina’s conservative majority, faces a much different landscape as he runs for re-election next year. The majority of South Carolinians consider him a sell-out to the liberals, a self-promoter, a pompous ass, and a bad joke. They vocally disagree with just about every position he has taken in the last eighteen months. The SC GOP is quietly but aggressively seeking a conservative opponent for the upcoming primary. His sugar daddy has gone impotent. The money has stopped flowing. And the Democrats smell blood.

It’s been a very bad June for Lindsey Graham. And it’s only going to get worse.

Senator DeMint is a true hero in the immigration debate. Linseed Gramisty is the one who needs to apologize - he has called us bigots for fighting his deal with his good friend from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy.
President Bush has betrayed his oath to protect the United States of America and should be impeached.

If The Palmetto Scoop can’t get this issue right or laud the Governor for having conserative convictions with his vetos, how in the heck can we thing it or it’s editors will get anything right. What they’r “scooping” sure isn’t news. It sounds like they are using a shovel…

It is the best and worst of times. We have Lindsey McGrahamisty as one of our Senators, but thank God, we have Mark Sanford and Jim DeMint. You think Jim DeMint has a big head. This is one of the craziest things I have read. Look at Graham smiling like a jerk with Ted Kennedy, thinking they had pulled one off on the America people. He is the one with a big head, thinkiing he knows better that us poor “bigots” who put him there (and the ones who will take him out when he runs for re-election.

I had been so proud of President Bush: he has fought bravely the war against terrorism, fought to reduce taxes, and strongly support Life. But something has happened to him. He has betrayed us. He now needs our prayers more than ever.

Senator DeMint is representing his constitutents, the rule of law, and America. I suspect that most who have posted negative comments about Senator DeMint have not taken the time to actually read the proposed Immitgration Amnesty Bill and any independent analysis. I also believe that most of the Senators have not read the entire Bill and paid any attention that the GAO, the independent branch of the govenrment tasked with providing analysis of this bill, has stated that this bill will only reduce illegal immigration about 13% in the short term. Other analyses say that this bill will increase Illegal Immigration. Why would any Senator be in favor of a bill that is 87% ineffective at best??? Senator DeMint seems to be one of the few that can actually see what is good for America.

As far as his comment about cutting of the (tree) limb that President Bush is way out on concerning immigration, this is a figure of speech. Anyone heard of that??? It is not disrespectful or a personal attach. It is a methaphor describing that Mr. Bush has lost his way on immigration and the Senator intends to work to get him back to reality and what the American People want. This is very mild from what Lindsay Graham called all people that oppose the immigration bill. He in effect, labeled anyone that oposses this bill as a rasist (appearence on TV News). Where is the outrage about his comments? I find Senator Graham to be extreamly offensive to his constitutents when he ignors and is blind to the horrible effects this amnesty bill will have on legal, tax paying, hard working, law abiding Americans.

Jim DeMint is the only senator from SC that is willing to represent the people who elected him. Bush on the other hand along with Lindsey Graham are so far out of touch with their constituents they deserve to have the entire tree cut down. (Note: Figure of speech not intended to be taken literally)

Jim DeMint is the only Senator I will vote for or contribute to and because of Bush I will not be contributing to the RNC and because of Graham I will not contribute to the RSC.

You folks are killing me. Ya’ll know that South Carolina has only one Senator, Jim DeMint. We don’t have enough electoral votes to qualify for 2 Senators. Lindsey Graham hasn’t represented South Carolina since he tied the knot with John McCain and became the 3rd Senator from Arizona. Don’t ask, don’t tell.

PS> Enjoy your free speech while you have it. If liberals like McCain, Graham or or a democrat is elected, you can kiss political debate like this web site goodbye.

This is really deplorable. As a nation, like it or not, we cannot have public officials berating the President of the United States. Yes we have freedom of speech but sometimes when and where is more important than what and why. Our country has always shown a solidarity before the world and now that is needed more for our troops than ever. Words spoken cannot be withdrawn no matter how remorseful you are and the belief that “what you do is your business alone” is just wrong.

Senator DeMint is our only senator as far as I am concerned. Please educate your friends and neighbors regarding what open borders and amnesty are doing to our beautiful country. NumbersUSA.com and Outragedpatriots.com are wonderful websites regarding this invasion and how the average citizen can help to combat this problem. Remember how our leaders have voted during the next election time. This issue should be every American’s number one concern. We can win the war on terror and still lose the war at home.

Our leaders cannot go “too far” on this issue. This issue will determine the future of our country. Thank you Senator DeMint!!! Shame on you Senator Graham.

As far as I am concerned (as a SOLDIER from Easley SC) Sen. DeMint needs to push harder. It is the President and Sen. Graham who have took thier eye off of the war in Iraq by spending thier time holding hands with Sen Kennedy on this Amnesty Bill. We know that Pres Bush is not a true conservative (look at his record). Sen Graham ran as a conservative it is time he starts to act like it instead of trying to be friends with Sen Kennedy.

    Sen DeMint keep fighting…..

That if the bill is passed and amnesty is given to the 12 to 20 million illegals it will break Social Security, food stamps.ssi, medicaid and all the other social programs in our country. These illegals have low paying jobs and many children. If this bill passes we will subsidize the food , service and building industries with cheap labor at the taxpayers expense. Our social Services can not support this many people without massive tax increases and lower the middle classes standard of living. These people are ILLEGAL and i don’t think people understand the word. They are not US citizens and have no rights to our constitutional rights. The current laws on them should be enforced.

being from texas and living with this my whole life the only thing i can’t understand is why the president went along with it. before you start saying i am against bush read on. i started working on reagan’s campaign in dall in 1980, iv worked with the party ever since. i ran bush 41’s office in san antonio in 1988 and in 1992. and i have worked with sen demint as well. i agree that this bill is bad for american and i base this on living around the problem most of my life. alot of people here sound like liberals. ever since i got back from vietnam in 1972 i have studied and watch liberal policys and yet have never seen a good one. in this our president needs to back up and remember what texas has been like for the past 100 years. and people of south caolina, let me take you to the valley and then here what you got to say.

I agree, enforce the laws we have now and finish the fence that legislation has already been passed to build and spend the money set aside to accomplish border security. A do nothing Congress who was able to give themselves a $4000.00 pay raise without partisan bickering.

Thank You Senator DeMint! At least you are listening. I believe we have the laws on the books to handle the illegal alien problem….what we apparently don’t have is the intestinal fortitude to enforce them! The basic problem is we have two sets of lawbreakers…the aliens and the employers of them. Prosecute both. I would rather pay more for my grapes and less in taxes. At least I could choose not to buy grapes…I have no choice but to pay the high taxes that are in part caused by the give-away programs.

Although I completely agree that Bush’s bill would be a slap in the face to the American people as well as to all those have immigrated here legally, I am embarrassed to have the likes of Senator DeMint representing my home state.

While out one evening I had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting Jim DeMint. It was in a public place where he was intoxicated and harrassing people around him. Would be different were he out with the few of the good ole boys in a private gathering, but for our politicians to behave this way in public is disgraceful. Had that been me I would have been tossed out of the place. The establishment said they couldn’t toss DeMint though, they feared he has too much power and they would lose their jobs. Shame on DeMint………I think he should be up North with Ted Kennedy.

Jim DeMint was right on target. It was WRONG, the way Congress tried to railroad this bill through just to appease the f-wording Democrat c-s’s. The president was also correct. The status quo is unacceptable. But, what Congress tried to do was force-feed this thing through the system before they went on vacation. If Congress had taken responsibility and handled this thing correctly during this last session, rather than try to [unlawfully] force the president to bring out troops home before the job is done, the results might have been very different, and acceptable. It’s not Jim DeMint’s fault, and I support his vocal stance on this matter. He was right, and the Senate vote proves it. Any disagreement may continue to suck wind ;-).

This is my first time to this site and I hope the EDITOR is not always that much of an idiot. DeMint is the true conservative in this case and should be applauded.
The Senate has not thought any of this through and they are trying to ram it down our throats. It is amnesty any way you slice. My old pappy always said “you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken crap, no matter how much mayo you add” This BILL is chicken crap and everyone knows it. If we don’t do something quick, we are going to have 20mil new citizens drawing off of all our systems.
Does Lindsey Graham honestly believe that the illegals will go back home to process their citizen paperwork. If he believes that then he is a true moron.
