Fred Thompson is smarter than a lot of people give him credit. He is a southern conservative, a voice of reason and up to the task. Ultimately, in 2008, we will have a choice of a conservative or a socialist. That for South Carolina, should be a no-brainer. Do we want socialist economics, higher taxes, gridlock in Congress, a totally messed up health care system or not. You can tell just how much a threat he is to the leftmost liberal wing , the attacks are already vicious. It is amazing the paucity of ideas presented from the left and the attempts to resurrect the Fairness Doctrine to muzzle conservative talk shows. Run Fred Run! No wine before its time. I wonder how the media will treat him? Will they discuss his far right views that mirror the Presidents, disect his faith, his voting record? Will there emerge any former girl friends? Have all those old movies and episodes of Law and Order been shelved for now? After two terms of Bush, I hope this country has enough sense to elect someone with some relevant skills, not a former lobbyist and TV actor. The rest of world must think we're nuts.
