Yesterday’s federal indictment of South Carolina Treasurer Thomas Ravenel on charges of cocaine distribution is likely to impact a number of officials with connections to the embattled Giuliani chairman. So South Carolina’s junior Senator, Jim DeMint, may want to keep stuff like this under wraps:
From The State’s timeline of Ravenel’s rise and fall:
June 22, 2004: Jim DeMint crushes former Gov. David Beasley in the GOP runoff. Ravenel’s endorsement of DeMint is seen as a key to victory. [AARON GOULD SHEININ and ADAM BEAM - The State]
(h/t Team Romney)

[...] (McCain’ SC Communications Director) have pushed the issue on their blog since it broke. Now Adam Temple is taking shots at his former boss, Senator Jim DeMint, for taking Ravenel’s endorsement in the 2004 Republican [...]
Listen to the Romney shot spaz boys whine!!!!!!!!!
This just in! Thomas “Gigglesnort” Ravenel has asked that the State Treasurer be allowed to take not only Saturdays off, but also “Casey Jones Wednesdays” as well.
Next on the agenda: “What really made Andre Bauer’s plane crash?” Any ideas? These guys sure are partying hard up there in Columbia and EVERYONE who has seen Andre out in local pub lately knows it’s only a matter of time before he gets caught!
As usual the Romney girls at the SHAT can’t learn to just shut up about something. Why is it that every damn time someone simply portrays there buddies in a bad way they have to go on an all out attack? Talk about desperate.
What a completely immature, elementary insult to Jim DeMint, who has absolutely nothing to due with the current situation Thomas Ravenel is in. There is no guilt by association in this matter. Grow up.
